Queen's Golden Jubilee Weekend
in Hemyock, Devon
On Monday 3rd June 2002, Hemyock Castle and Village celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II — fifty years since her accession to the throne.
Hemyock Castle is set in the now tranquil Culm Valley in Devon, England, just a few miles from the M5 Motorway and Taunton. The site is a scheduled Ancient Monument.
Special events on Monday 3rd June included:
- Hemyock Castle — Open (2 to 5 pm):
- Castle Tours.
- Interpretation Centre.
- Village Hall — Fun for all the Family (12 to 5 pm):
- 1950's Dress Theme.
- Pram Race.
- Greasy Pole.
- Bouncy Castle.
- Photo Exhibition.
- Country Crafts.
- Cream Teas.
- Village Hall — Jubilee Dance (8 pm to 12.30 am).
- Tickets available from Post Office & Spar Shop.
